Recently, in a prayer time, I went back to a beautiful and tender poem the Lord inspired in me half a year ago, and it inspired a prayer from this little lamb to her Good Shepherd.

Lord, God, Lamb of God
Holy, spotless, pure
Perfect in submission
Swift in obedience
Wholly trodding the path set before You
There’s none other like You!He is tender and gentle
Spotless with no blemish
Indeed chief among thousands
Humble yet He is the I Am
The Most Beloved divine Lamb.Your little one longs to be a lamb like You
Having no will of her own
No ego, no spot
How, O divine Lamb, can I follow, follow, follow
Your beautiful, divine, holy way?!Make me Holy, Holy, Holy
Self seeking no throne
Rather to disappear and in You abide
That You alone may exist and be pleased to abide
In this little one, Your little holy lamb.
A Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You that You know how to be a Lamb and You know how to be the Shepherd. You know exactly how to make me into a lamb. And, as my Good Shepherd, whether You lead me through tight places to show me my constriction, or through dark valleys to see the true darkness that lies within me, I trust in You, I trust in Your wisdom, I trust in Your faithfulness.
Thank You that, as a lamb, I can simply just throw myself into Your arms, trusting that You will be the One to lead me all the way to the path of the cross. I throw myself into Your arms, dear Jesus, as Your little lamb, trusting that You will lead me to the slaughter, because that’s where I need to go.
And thank You for every part of the journey, Lord, no matter how much it may sting or be difficult or be uncomfortable, You are my Good Shepherd and You know the way that You need to lead me.
